Books to read.

I'm having a little reading drought. Can't think of what to start on next.
I want to read something of worth. Should I read Foucault's 'The History of Sexuatily'?
I bought that once but had to leave it in London. I hope Stevie brings it for me on the 20th.
Humm, an accessible philosophy book would be nice.
Any ideas?

  1. Bertrand Russel's A History of Western Philosophy is where to start with that kind of thing I've heard. Starts with the Greeks and goes through history, but presents philosophy as an outcome of the lives, societies and cirumstances of the philosophers, so it's a social history and a story as much as an outline of western thought.

A bit denser but much more fun is Slavoj Zizek. Check him out on YouTube. Get his "perverts guide to cinema". Very funny!

Read some Bruce Chatwin. You'd like "What Am I Doing Here?" (Travel stories)

Pynchon's The Crying of Lot 49 is amazing, short and fun.
